I'm new here and was wondering if all you seasoned Mark 8 owners would think that a 93 with 176,000 that still runs good and doesn't smoke would be a good buy at $500? Around here its a good price, but I don't know if our market around here is higher than normal though. Don't knwo much about the cars other than They look good and go fast. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Dude, you'd be insane to pay anymore than $200 flat for a 93 Mark VIII with that many miles on it. They're pieces of crap. Have you ever actually driven in one?

Why are they crap? I am just curious. I do have a complete 93 with 64,000 mi, but its totaled. I really just need a good body to put one together. And the air ride needs a new compressor, or has a short keeping he compressor from working. He said the compressor doesn't run when you start the car.

If the body is good, and you got a parts car already, I'd jump all over that deal.
I have a '94 with 166,000+, drive it daily, and still going strong. It's a solid car, NOT a piece of crap. Because of the mileage, I am putting together a replacement engine (/w forged internals, about 75% done) and tranny ('97 to be j-modded, upgraded to '99 specs), when it's needed.

I was kidding dude........around here, $500 is half a months rent. If a used (running) Mark VIII isn't worth at least that much, something is definately wrong.

I would be sure to have some cash for repairs on hand. Mine is at 183,000 and liking to eat money right now. Most of it is regular maintenance, but consider that most of the wearable parts are at the end of their life. But the Mark is a solid car, and if you have the lower mileage donor, then you probably should do it. $500 is nothing for what you are getting.
