I really feel bad for my GF. Not only will she be buying it for me for Xmas(easrly, and tradition), but then she wont see me for about 2 weeks...right about the time my thumbs fall off!

I believe I could lose a lot of sleep this winter with graphics like that. I can imagine what the X-Box version will be like.

Xbox will never get any Gran Turismo game.

the grapichs wont be that good Your tv isnt hight enough resolution

also notice none of those are in game shots they are all replays

now granted im going to be buying it but im not expecting the quality show in those pics

you have a good point all the replays are recompiled after you are done playing. but still the grafixs during the game should be spectalular. i have never owned a game system before and do not plan of buying one for this game. my entire life my brother has owned one and just use his when i come over and i am also not buying the game but my brother will.

As far as driving simulation games go, I would rate GT3 amoung the best. From the realistic trimming of a F1 car, to the actual torque steer of a FWD car, it is very close to real, as my couch will ever get.

Now, when I first got into gaming, it was driving sim's only, on an old PSone...GT2. It was "ok" for me, but it got boring. Then I got a PS2, because it played the old games, and was a DVD player.

I highly advise you use this tactic to enduce the common sense purchase when expaining its neccesity to your significant other.

I also advise you immediately go online to obtain the cheat codes, or get a shark card. Not because "cheating" is fun, but so you can do both...play the game as a career from the beginning, or just go into arcade mode with all the "unlocked cars and tracks" to just get a little wild, without having to play the game for 300 straight hours to achieve that cool little F60!

I'm there. I dont think the graphics will be "that" good, but in a way, that is probably better. otherwise, my real car will never get used.

I think the graphics will be excellent and honestly IMHO, the graphics in GT3 are still top notch. I used to like saving and watching the replays. I think in replay mode you will see some outstanding graphics, very similar to what you see here.

I have had this game paid for and on hold for six months now and it looks like the release date is getting pushed back further. My son is the PS2 addict, but I am the GT addict. Need For Speed Underground and Burnout 3 are also good racing games. I was surprised how much I liked those games being the die hard GT3 fanatic that I am.

Most of those backgrounds in the on-track shots are pre-rendered 2D images (i.e. the canyon, Ferris Wheel), so it doesn't seem too far-fetched that the game will look just like the pics show (with the exceptions that your TV won't be able to show you that much detail). Some of the super high-res closeups look more like intro screens or menu screens, and probably stills, so they can pretty much give you the most beautifully rendered shot they can come up with without having your PS2 do any work at all.

Still looks awesome. Good thing I've managed to keep some self control and not buy one of those systems. I'd probably be a junkie by now.

I'm still on the early-bird list for Halo 2. What's up with it now?

I only lost 2 weeks worth of sleep with the original Halo. :+

I remember suffering severe sleep depravation with Flight Simulator when it was first released for the PC. *sigh*
