Gtech Pro Times

Got my GTech this morning :) Woot!!

I made 4 0-60 runs. Not enough room here in the city to do a 1/4 run. I'll do that over the weekend when I can go to the east side and get some room.

But here are the times.

6.62
6.64
6.70 (left Traction control on for that one)
6.60

Thats with a completly full tank of gas, spare, bunch of CD's and stuff in the trunk. And a book bag with a performance, Calc, and Thermodynamics book in it. The car is also 100% stock.

I'm pretty happy with those times. I thought I'd for sure be running 6.8's or so since I had one of the fatter Mark VIII's weighing in at over 2 tons. (4037 lbs.) But I guess your going to be fat when your fully loaded with every available option :p

RE: Gtech Pro Times

All this bash of Gen 2's, and in the end, you come up with the best of 6.6 :p

at your weather conditions, you should be doing LOW 6's high 5's. Wait until I get mine and show you how slow my Gen 2 is :)

RE: Gtech Pro Times

Well mayyybe just mayyyybe your g tech is off :p ! Use a stopwatch and start when you punch the gas and stop when you pass 60.

RE: Gtech Pro Times

Actually, I get my G-tech in a couple of days, the tests I did were with a stopwatch :p
You guys can keep trying all day long :p

RE: Gtech Pro Times

Moe, I should have my G-Tech tomorrow, hopefully for the weekend.

We'll post some times and put the 1st Gen boys to shame. Actually, I think my '98 is a pig compared to the Dust Collector '93.

Anybody know anything about swapping computers. I know the EEC-IV thing vs EEC-V, but can I use it, or am I just better off with a chip? I unfortunately live in a Nazi state that emission tests every year so I don't want emissions problems if they can't just hook up to the EEC-V and then start giving me all sorts of crap about it.

Ok so you suck at starting and stopping the stopwatch. Now try it with the Gtech. :)

RE: Gtech Pro Times

Got a few more times from the Gtech over the weekend

Both runs where at 47 degrees and dry pavement. 0-60 time listed first, then 1/4 time and E.T.

6.38s 14.80 102.0
6.34s 14.80 101.5

I like the 0-60 times, I dropped .3s off of my previous best with the Gtech.

RE: Gtech Pro Times

I got mine but haven't had a chance to try it out.

RE: Gtech Pro Times

Ok, I'm going to make all you guys feel good......I paid $139.95 for my G-Tech, four years ago.

Now I'm going to make you 2nd Gen guys feel bad......My best G-Tech times were 0-60 in 5.99 and 14.39 @ 105 mph in cool weather. The quarter-mile speeds are usually off about 3-5 mph from the track but you e.t.'s can be close.

My G-Tech finally just quit working after about 4 years. I now have a Tazzo unit which is easier to use and offers more functions. However "cheap" was not one of them (LOL). Have fun with your G-Tech's...I did.

RE: Gtech Pro Times

I hit 6.17 and 6.20 on one of these
http://www.beltronics.com/fx.html

I like it alot better than the Gtech, it's alot more stable, easier to set up.. more functions..blah blah blah.

I used to play around with the Gtech, the Beltronics unit it alot neater.
