Guys, Need help Quick #2

OK, this turned into a strictly electrical problem. My parking lights are not working, both in the front and in the rear. I checked all the fuses including 32, but no show.

My original problem was a short in the neon ballast, it blew fuse #32 and it wouldn’t shift out of P, no break lights, and no parking lights. Since then I disconnected it and changed the fuse, I got my break lights back, but no parking lights.

Any suggestions or help? Because I cannot drive my beautiful 2nd Gen at night, these babies were MADE for nighttime driving.

This is what alldata says (it lost some formatting though):

Flow of Diagnosis

Verify the customer's concern by operating the parking lamps to duplicate the condition. NOTE: If the headlamp switch loses power, the steering column/ignition/lighting control module will automatically default to the autolamp mode. With the ignition switch in RUN, the autolamp function will turn on the exterior lamps and the instrument panel lighting depending on the input of the light sensor amplifier as in normal operation, however the exit delay will be defaulted to the full three minutes.
Inspect to determine if one of the following electrical concerns apply: VISUAL INSPECTION CHART Electrical
Damaged fuse: Fuse Junction Panel Fuse 31 (10A) , 1 (10A) , 19 (10A) , 12 (15A) , 7 (15A) , 13 (15A) , 25 (10A) , 26 (15A) .
Circuitry open/shorted.
Damaged connector.
Miniature bulb burned out.
Damaged headlamp switch.
If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, service as required.
If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel to perform DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the New Generation Star Tester responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting Control Module, go to Pinpoint Test EA. See: Procedures\Pinpoint Tests\Test EA : No Communication With SCIL Control Module If the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST is passed for the Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting Control Module, retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and execute Self Test Diagnostics for Steering Column/ignition/lighting Control Module.
If self test is passed and no diagnostic trouble codes are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. See: Procedures\Symptom Chart(s)
If diagnostic trouble codes are retrieved, go to the Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting Control Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics. See: Procedures\Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)\SCIL Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index
If the Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting Control Module cannot be accessed by the New Generation Star tester, go to Pinpoint Test EA. See: Procedures\Pinpoint Tests\Test EA : No Communication With SCIL Control Module

It also lists these potential causes for "parking lamps inoperative":

- open circuitry
- bad headlamp switch
- bad SCIL module (and there is a whole slew of things to do to test it)

Start by unplugging the headlight switch and waiting until it's dark. If the switch is disconnected the computer will supposedly default to autolamp, which should turn your lights on when it gets dark. If that doesn't work, you either fried a wire (probably not) or you fried your SCIL module with the short in the ballast. Which means you need an NGS tester, a voltmeter, and some electrical diagrams to continue diagnosis.

UPDATE:

Today, I went to start the car, and guess what? It cranks but it wont START!!!

I started getting all these errors on my Message center as if the PCM was unplugged, checked the fuses, and a few have been blown. Replaced them, and still have a few things that will not operate still (ex. steering wheel position memory, cig lighter, etc don’t know what else) Checked thier fuses, and their just fine.

The car will keep cranking but no go.

WHAT’S GOING ON?!!

RE: Guys, Need help Quick #2

I hate to say it, but if it's as bad as you're saying, it may be time to take it to a professional, i.e. dealer. Sounds like some serious electrical gremlins, and probably big bucks to diagnose.

RE: Guys, Need help Quick #2

MAJOR UPDATE:

Turns out when I was checking my fuses yesterday, I didn’t put Fuse #11 in its correct location, and it was causing all this (MAJOR RELIEF!!)

OK, now back to the issue at hand.

I will be going to the store to buy some light bulbs, just in case they burned out or something.

RE: Guys, Need help Quick #2

Parking lights work just like new (DONT KNOW HOW THEY FIXED THEMSELVES), I can finally go back to enjoying my spring break...hmmmm... Miami or Orlando... that is the question :)

I just hope my problems don’t come back again!

Thanks a lot guys!!!!!!

RE: Guys, Need help Quick #2

good thing everything turned out fine i was reading up, didn't know what to say though. I had a problem with my rear lights turned out to be a loose wire inside a connector behind the carpet in the trunk.
