Hard left turns on highway

I'm new to the message board so excuse me if this is in the wrong forum but I gotsta know about this problem that has gotten notably worse over the past year or so.

I have a 93 mark w/ 90k on it, all original as far as I know with the exception of the coil spring conversion that I put in a few summers back. I've noticed while driving at highway speeds (60 and up) that when I go to make a wide left turn it almost feels like there's a hard spot in the stearing and then I pull through it and it almost shoots the car to the left. As you can imagine when I see the highway start to turn left I get very cautious. Its been doing this since before the conversion so I dont think its that. If you come up with any ideas let me know.

bad rack, maybe?

my car did something similar when i made HARD right turns when i first put my headers in. the d/s header was way too close to the steering shaft and the motor would end up laying on the steering shaft when i turned too hard. i pulled that header and had it redone since though.
