Headlight lens removal from housing

I have the lens assembly out of the car but it looks like the lens is glued to the back housing. I am looking to get these two pieces apart to modify the deflector but am wondering the best way to cut it off??

Look at this thread, toward bottom it metions putting them in an oven for a few minutes, then prying apart.

Be careful not to go too long, someone on here ruined theirs by heating too long. I believe you simply reheat to reattach.
