Help computer question

It looks like the computer is bad in my 94 Mark. it's screwing up the idle and the diagnostic tools the mechanic has can't communicate with it even with the chip out. He says 9 out of 10 times this means it's bad.

So if I wanted to get a used one what year mark can I replace it with? same year only? same CODE only? (Z4HO) or any computer from 93 to 95?

and how much is a used one going to cost?

You can get one from Ford reman for around $200.00 and guarantee the same code.

You can also look in yards but you may have trouble finding a matching code that way, plus you do not know what your gettting as well.

Id go with a new reman for sure.

Any PCM from any ’93 through ’95 car will work except the ’93 cars that have a code that ends with the number 2. This is explained by Jerry in detail at MTCForum in the advance tech forum. I think you have to register to view that forum.
