Help in finding a base plate that will fit '97 Town Car

The major suppliers do not have a base plate that fits a '97 TC, allowing it to be towed on all four wheels. They have them for '95-'96 and for '98. A frame change was made by Ford Motor Co. in '97 and the earlier years base plate does not fit. Any after market ideas? How about modifications to an otherwise non-fitting plate? All other equipment is available to make this car towable on all four wheels. Just need help in securing a base plate that will do the job. Need your help, please. (I don't want to pull a car dolly.) RE: Help in finding a base plate that will fit '97 Town Car

I'm not really familiar with flat-towing, other than wrapping a strap around the axle and doing it that way.

I would recommend a car dolly or a car trailer. Being that the town car is rear-drive, a full car trailer would be the ticket.

I'd check with the RV crowd. They're usually a pretty helpful bunch.

Most campgrounds don't have room for your RV and a tow dolly or trailer.

A machine shop or body shop may be able to build you a plate.
