help no speedo

my 98 lsc has a broken abs module so I have it disconected temp. The problem is my speedo no longer works, is this because the abs module is disconected? The odometer shows the mileage for a few seconds and then goes blank. Any help?
 
The Gen2s speedo works off the ABS wheel sensors, so yes, I'd say disconnecting the ABS disabled the speedo.
 
Umm please describe your problem a little more. What did you disconnect and why?

I had to pull an ABS fuse to disengage my crazy malfunctioning ABS sensor that made my ABS engage all the time.

This had NO effect on the speedo or ODO.
 
The car was in an accident, which broke the abs unit. The dash was inoperable until I unplugged the unit. No speedo, no tach, no gas gage etc.. Once unplugged everthing worked except the speedo. It also would run the battery down over night which has also gone away after unplugging the abs. I assume there was a short in the system. Any further thoughts?

Hmm hard to say. there is an ABS module and i'd give that a shot i guess. But it does sound like you have a short. But tracking these things down is notororiously difficult after accidents.
