HELP!! The car won't start!

Be2lose

In title only.
I changed the brake pads today, I started the car a couple of times to adjust the front wheel angle. Got it all done and now it won't start!!

I tried disconnecting the battery for 1/2 an hour, still nothing.

Any ideas? I need this car to get to work in the morning.

You need to give us just a little more info.

Won't crank.

Crank's but doesn't start.

You smell gas.

Etc.

You know, symptoms. ;)

Cranks Yes, no gas smell. just cranks. sometimes wants to fire but it does not.???

I just changed the pads. WTH?

Could it be just flooded?

Have you tried holding the throttle to the floor and cranking it a few seconds?

Cycle the key on/off a few times and check for the presence of fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail.

Unplug the crank sensor and plug it back in.

Thanks!! To both of you!!
I got it started.

I think while it was raised it up (on one side) and I started it air got into the fuel line. I cycled the fuel pump 3 or 4 times and all is good.

Thanks again!

I didn't think you could flood a fuel injeted engine.

I think its your crank sensor, it causes intermittent non start conditions like that. there is now way you could have "gotten air into the fuel" system. That thing is pressurized at 30psi. Raising the car up or down and or holding it upside down won't do a thing.

I'll keep that in mind if it happens agian.
I started the car a couple times while the passanger side was up and I had less than a quater tank. I lowered it and it would not start. So I think I ran the pump empty (air in the line). Drillers comment about cycling the pump seemed to work.

I don't know but it's starting, running and stopping great now. I hope I don't have to worry about the sensor.

The GF flooded her 02 Continental so badly it was dumping raw gas out the exhaust pipes...

Cape Cod Lincoln was super happy when they got that car... :D

When they finally got it fired, the resulting explosion was so loud it sounded like a cannon went off in the garage... :D :D :D

it must be nice knowing that you can even wreak havoc from a distance!
