Here we go on another set of winter tires

So, I decided to go ahead and invest in a new set of winter tires for the Mark 8. The other set was toast and I didn't trust my summer tires in the snow. The forecast was for a big storm Saturday night, so off I went to the tire shop! I decided to buy 4 new Bridgestone Winterforce 225/60/16. Report so far? Impressive. We got 6 inches of the white stuff over night with some freezing rain as well. We took the Mark to church this morning and I couldn't believe how well it did. It looks as though the '98 traction control and new winter tires will get me through to spring. Modest investment: $547.00 out the door. I used my good ole' Taurus rims and the chromes are now safely tucked away in the basement until spring. Should be a much safer ride to work on Monday morning.

Sounds good Neil. We got snow and ice, but I think the roads will be clear tomorrow. The hardest part of my drive for me is always my driveway.

I just threw on my Blizzaks this weekend and remembered how much I love them. I woke up saturday morning to go get them put on, there was a dusting of snow, and anything more then smooth throttle made my rears spin, but then they are Potenza (summer tires) with 10,000 miles on them. We got 10 inches of snow Saturday night and on Sunday morning I had no problems going down the unplowed alley. The Mark actually drives better in the snow than my wife's front wheel drive Jetta.

I'm with Neilster, anyone in the snowbelt, definitely consider getting some snow tires if you can.
