anyone know what the differences are between the GEN 1 and Gen 2 HID Ballasts (Can you interchange them if you adapt the connectors or all they completely different animals electrically)

One year uses two separate ballast and an other year has a single duel output ballast. The bulbs are the same 1st gen or 2nd gen, so it either ballast can be used.

I have bought both the '96 units(Gen1) and the '97 units(Gen2) and they look the same. I've heard the harness plugs are different, I don't know as the plugs were cut and spliced on the Gen1.

Some of the '98s use different ballasts as I found out from the dealership. IIRC, they changed them after January.
 
ok so I have two then, I just want to know cause I am going to part them out on ebay, I am buying a conversion kit for the new HID setup

Which HID setup are you going with? Item number maybe? Thanks. I'm just curious as i'm looking at purchasing an HID setup as well. I'm looking at the $550 ones on the auction site. Thanks.
 
yea I saw those expensive ones, look into the ones I got here, see if they are for you.
