I was hit today. I've been driving for 15 years and this is my first accident. It was his fault. A Mazda MVP was turning left into a parking area, then noticed it was an exit only, so he throws it in reverse and hits the drivers quarter panel of my car. I gallantly tried in vain to use my jedi mind powers to move my car out of the way, but alas, I havent paid my Jedi dues, so I failed in my attempt. Wouldnt you know the guy didnt have insurance on him it's "at home." So, I'm glad Hawaii has the No fault insurance. Im on the phone w/ my insurance company now. Maybe I can get a paint job out of it!!

All to common problem of drivers not having insurance. Happened to me when some knucklehead hit me causing my Mark to be totalled. Good luck.

Well, come to find out, the guy didnt have insurance, and I dont have collision, I was under the impression that Hawaii No-fault insurance came with collision, but I found out the hard way it doesnt.... So, now I gotta sue this guy, and I have a feeling he's broke as crap. So, as a warning, if you dont have collision, go get it now!!!!!

WTH?! What's the "No-Fault" insurance for? Someone has NO insurance and hits you and you gotta pay? That's ludricrous. ::grrr::
Here in WV we have "no-fault" insurance(supposedly to cover for drivers with NO insurance) and also we have "under-insured" insurance for those drivers without "enough" insurance. {note to self: call insurance agent tomorrow!} ::wtf::

Yeah, kinda what JP said -- if you don't have no fault in Hawaii, don't you have to have underinsured or uninsured insurance? In IL we have to. My insurance, I presume, will cover my car no matter what, and it is their job to collect from the other insurance company or driver. That's what I believe to be true here in IL -- I don't know Hawaii's laws, and I haven't had any run-in's with uninsured drivers to test it out.

I dont know, it's really pissing me off. I have an appointment with the Base Legal team, maybe they can squeeze some money out of this guy. But if he doesnt have money for insurance, what are the chances he's gonna have money to fix my car? EVERYONE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COLLISION IN YOUR POLICY
