2nd follow up. Checked #5 plug, and replaced it. It was ugly, it was original. All seemed well, car ran fine for most of the day. CE came on again, again saying misfire in #5. The boot seemed undamaged to the naked eye, but tomorrow I will replace it and change all the plugs. At this point, I am thinking coil. Will report after it is done. If it is the coil, it is covered under warranty.

3rd Follow up. Replaced coil on #5 cylinder, the Batmobile is fine again. No more codes and running smooth as silk.! I thought it was running really smooth and quiet before the boot/plug replacements, but now it is a whole new level of quiet and smooth. I was surprised at how easy it was to change the boots and plugs myself, I'll be doing it myself from now on. I was thrown for a hot minute when I kept getting a misfire on #5, but thank goodness it seems to only be a bad coil. I was reading about some of the deeper issues some members were having and was glad mine didn't go that far. All in all I have been pleasantly surprised with the build quality of my car, I do all the required stuff and it has worn well for its' age and mileage.(knock on wood!!):) If anyone out there has had similar issues, I hope this little set of posts helps. Goodness knows I turn to the website all the time. Gotta go for a drive!!!:D
