HOW CAN I GET MY SLAMMED MARK 8 TOWED??....URGENT!

Hello all, My '98 Mark is currently slammed in my driveway as it has been for about a month......can barely see daylight under the car.....I believe I have a bad compressor and finally have the $$ to take care of it.......everyone says it will be very hard to get it on a flatbed to the mechanic and it is not drivable ......and......we are moving to our new house and need to have the car out of the driveway by Friday Sept. 1st....can air be pumped into the system somehow just to get it down the road??.....I'm sure slammed Lincolns have to be towed somehow.....my issue is that it is a nice '98 CE and I would rather not have to endure the scapping sound of my undercarriage all the way up and down the flatbed.........any suggestions would be very much appreiciated!!!!!

I'd fix it in the driveway and not have it towed.

Have you tried swapping the compressor relay with the ABS relay yet?

If you're sure that it's the compressor, just buy one from Eddie at American Air Suspensions and install it. It's not that difficult.

Thanks Bill......Eddie seemed to think it was the relay and when I went to do it he tried walking me through it on the phone......got to the relay on the passenger front but what I was looking at and what he was telling me I should be seeing were 2 slightly different things......he said that the Gen2 relays were a little different and I really didn't get anywhere so I just put it back together and got frustrated.....If this helps......was driving one day and the front end slammed but I still drove it for about a week until the rear slammed and it was drivable like that for a week until it really ended up slammed and I started bottoming out everywhere so I parked it......also, I have a hard code, "check air ride" comes on almost instantly.......Bill, if you could be so kind, could you basically write me out some directions to switch the relay and I will try it tomorrow......I am not mechanically inclined at all BTW but was encouraged that I could at least get to the relay and I'm sure the ABS relay should be similar......anything you or anyone else could help me with is extremely helpful and appreiciated!!!!

also, I am not even sure I can get a jack under it???....suggestions on that??

Drive it up onto a 2x4. That should give you enough space to get the factory jack underneath (it's pretty low-profile), which will raise it enough to use a beefier jack.

I'm not too familiar with Gen 2's. I didn't know that the relays looked different.

The ABS relay on the driver's side should be some where under the front of the front fender. Remove the plastic inner fender and you should be able to locate it.

Here's a photo of a relay from my 94. I would think that it would look somewhat similar. The 4 wire plug goes in where the quarter is.
