How Do You Get #*#* Crank Pulley Off??

Tried to install u/d crank pulley on my 98 yesterday. (This was so easy on my 88 Mustang.) Ran into 2 problems.

1. Could not get crank bolt loose. Breaker bar did not work as engine kept turning. (manual trannys make this so easy cuz u can lock the engine & drivetrain) So I got impact wrench rated at 260ft/lbs... did not even budge it! So I said forget this.

2. If I was to suceed in getting the "bolt from hell" loosened, my 98 has some type of air injector valve right by the stock crank pulley and it looks like the smaller u/d pulley would rub the bracket.

Have y'all whipped either of these issues?

Thanks!

RE: How Do You Get #*#* Crank Pulley Off??

it is tough to do while in the car. I have never done it while in the car. Getting the bolts off is only the first part of the battle. I was able to get them loose while wedging a bar to hole the crank still. YOu will have to have a puller to get the pully off once you get the bolts off. you will have to go to autozone and borrow their special low profile puller to get it off while still in the car. As far as all the air pump stuff, you will most likely have to remove it.
