actually she wasnt fat at all. She played basketball and ran track.

If a woman is tall -six foot or more, it may not be that obvious she is pregnant. The uterus has greater room to move upwards.
It is not uncommon for a woman to come into an ER with abdominal pain thinking that it's something intestinal and find that she is labor.
