Hvac Vaccuum Leak Need Interior Diagram

I got some help from MAD1STGEN on my car yeasterday, and he is the expert that I know around here.

We found that there is a Vaccuum hose disconnected behind the Glovebox, not sure what it goes to, does anyone have Vaccuum schematics, I am guessing it goes to the HVAC, since that was my issue he was looking back there for me. Under acceleration, even light, the HVAC moves from the vents to the defroster grills toward the front windshield and then as you stabilize the RPM's, it returns to the Vents, we duplicated it by unhooking the Vaccuum in the Engine area, but then he found this hose. I bought this car from him and he does not know where it goes to, he did say the Blend door was fixed on it according to the service records he researched before he bought the car. So he knows the dash was taken out and that could be when this happened.

So I thought I would ask the help of everyone here.

Any ideas?

Arghh, I can't get my DVD manual to open.

But from memory, you have three vacuum actuators in the system. You have the recirc door actuator, the defrost/floor actuator and the panel door control actuators. I believe the recirc door actuator is out by the glovebox area, but without access to the '98 manual, I'm not sure.

Can you tell if the unhooked hose has vacuum at times and not at other times?

If you put the EATC in the MAX AC position or OFF, you should have vacuum at that hose if it's the recirc door actuator.

If you have vacuum at the hose with the EATC control in the MAX AC position, the VENT position and the PNL/FLR position, it is the panel door control actuator.

If you have vacuum at the hose with the EATC control in the PNL/FLR position, the FLOOR position and the FLR/DEF position, it is the defrost/floor control actuator.

If you have vacuum only in the FLOOR position only, it is the defrost/floor control actuator.

EDIT: What color is the line? Look here: http://www.lincolnsofdistinction.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=18453&highlight=eatc+vacuum

Its white, so I think it is the Recirc Door Actuator.

Where is this on the A/C unit so I can plug it back in?

Anyone??

Yes, the white tube is for the recirc door.

I couldn't find a drawing locating the vacuum actuator, but it would be very near the blower motor which is behind and below the glovebox on the passenger side. You can easily remove the glovebox for better access.
