I Can Drive After Dark Again

I've had my 98 LSC for 2 years now and the low best were always very dim when they worked until finally only one would work. It was always a second car that I didn't drive very much and usually not after dark. For some reason I had it in my head that HIDs were an too expensive to work on so I never wanted to mess with them. A quick drive in it after several months reminded me how much fun it is to drive and that I should drive it a lot more. I did some reading, asked some questions and with the help of a Jay Richmond on Facebook he helped me determine all I needed were ballasts and suggested I get 55W ballasts. At some point the factory ballast in my car were bypassed with cheap offbrands and they did a bad job splicing them in. I rewired the new ones the right way and cleaned the housings inside and out with a microfiber cloth tied to the end of a coat hanger. Worked wonders on the insides and they look great. Now I have low beams that work great and I can see for $100 and a little time. I also swapped all of the theatre lighting on the inside to LEDs and it feels like a different car.
I ordered more for the instrument cluster etc and they should be here soon. Moral of the story is its easier than you think to get your low beams working better than ever and won't cost a fortune.
