I had this delivered over a month ago to my house in enclosed trailer, but couldn't even out a mile on it.

Today after several days of snow, freezing temps, and finally rain to clean up the roads around here, it was the initiation time :D

It's pretty sad that a stock LS3 pulls much stronger than a seriously blown mark viii. :frown:

No mark VIIIs in sight, I got rid of another one last week. I wonder if they will accept this car at the All Ford carlisle ? ;)

I must admit when I first saw this post I thought I was going to see the white CE from Shelby that was for sale. What can be said about your new ride except absolutely beautiful, I have had several opportunities to drive one of those from the GM Tech Center to the Ren Cen when I have had meetings down there and the drive always seems to be short in my opinion.

hahaha another Mark to Vette convert!!

Automatic eh? It is a nice unit on the C6s though! And the LS3 puts out 380rwhp stock in a car that weighs 3200#... so hence the pulling stronger than the mark. These #s are just too hard to beat.

I don't know if you got it with that special exhaust but i hear nothing but good things about it, sounds great and it is pretty much a straight pipe when you nail it and hush hush quiet otherwise.

Getting black rims anytime soon :p? Vararam?
I was toying with the idea of getting a C6 to replace my C5, but i only like the 08s (because of the LS3) and they are still a bit more than I want to spend.

You on the Vette forum yet?

Congrats Jeremi!

And yes, you can attend All Ford Nationals with the car, just put a picture of a Mark over the chevy emblem. Ask Sax. ;)

Nice ride Buddy !! Don't worry Bill still has plenty of Mark Vlll's to go around so you will still be able to work on them and have a driver when you need one.

I kid you not... I'm standing at the back of the Cadillac last Carlisle, and these guys walk up to the car, and they are looking at the front of it... and then looking at the side, and then looking through the windows, and finally one guy says to the other, "but it's got Cadillac wheels, and Cadillac seats"... and I'm standing almost right next to him thinking... is this guy f#@%ing kidding me?

Leo, actually had to start asking people not to vote for it... there was one woman who was pretty adamant that the Markillac was the one she liked... I really wouldn't have thought that in a long row of 2 DOOR Mark 8s, no one would seriously think a DTS was the same kinda car, but I guess there are some pretty dumb people out there... :D

Leo banned me from parking in the line the next day... :D

Anyway, yeah, register the Vette as a MK, you'll get the same widow sticker etc, no one ever bothers to actually see what your driving, and then you just drive right in... :D

Sweet rig BTW!

:D -J

I know what your thinking, the back of the DTS looks just like a 2nd Gen MK... :D

I was wondering when you were going to post about "the vette" I am an x vette owner 69,73 and they sure have come along way, You need to ride, drive it to understand a Corvette !! BAD ASS!!

Haha, yeah that white CE was nice, but I went thru 3 marks since the black one, and none of them has the "thing" I needed. Even a 50k mile mint 2nd gen wouldn't keep me happy.

It's an auto. It's more of a cruiser for me, plus the auto seems to last longer with proper tunning than the manuals. Tunning is mandatory, and will happen as soon as the weather cooperates again.

The NPP dual mode exhaust is badass. I still need to wire a switch so that it stays open even at lower RPMs, but it sounds scary at times ;) Normally I'd leave the fuse out all the time, but the noise is too much on the freeway, so the switch is a must. Right now it works like the 2nd gen IMRCs, only under load, and over 3K RPMs.

Black wheels ? Maybe, but the car looks great as is IMO. Vette forum ... ? You know I am not much of a forum guy   :D :D :D

If you do decide to get aftermarket wheels I know a vendor and I may be able to get you a bit of a discount.

But I like the ones you have now :D

Congrats bud, welcome to the C6 club! ;) The LS3 is a SWEET motor!! Let me know if you are going to Corvettes at Carlisle ever....

Those things are low 12 second cars out of the box... high 11s with some minor tweaks like different intake and tune.

Exactly my point. Yeah, 500rwhp in a mark is fun, but it's useless other than a nice highway run. I always hated the lack of handling at high speeds, and the "heaviness" of the car during spirited driving.

What's even funnier is that C5Z06s are pretty much on par with the new LS3. Kind of the same story as M3s and 335i or 135i.

No need for a set up Charlie. I have respect for blown marks, you know that. They were always something else for me though, unlike a gold watch which it is for you. I've been driving marks since 99, and it was time for a fun car, that doesn't need to be at Lidio's mercy to be quick.
