I need help ASAP please

I own a 2000 Lincoln LS, and the other day I had a problem with my front passenger window. I went to lower the window and it got stuck. I was confused and thought maybe I hit the wrong button, so I press the button again, and this time I hear a cracking noise and the window fell down. So when I got home, I took off the door panel to see what was wrong, I noticed, the two clips that hold the window on the track broke. So now, I have no idea what to do, or where to go to get replacement parts for this. Any help would be appreciated.

Summary for those that don't want to read the whole story:

I need the two window clips that hold the window in place/on track for the front passenger side

RE: I need help ASAP please

You might drop by your local dealer and ask them.

Lacking a LS manual or experience, I don;t have a clue.

I think you'll find that the reason the window got stuck is because the regulator cable jammed and cocked the glass in the window runs, then the clips snapped. The entire regulator probably needs to be replaced.

Sad to say, this is a fairly common problem on LSs.

The clips are not available (at least through Ford) separately; they're integral to the regulator.

Part #: YW4Z 5423208 AA

It's not cheap. It retails up here for CAN $221.00, and comes complete with a new drive motor.

Bought a 2000 LS in July 1999...all windows have fallen down...dealer fixed some...last month left rear fell down...dealer replaced complete assembly and now window works but manual and power lock does NOT work...unable to open door from inside or out...dealer gave up...suggested a body shop remove back seat to get to lock...I said NO ...tired of spending 400 bucks to fix each window....any suggestions to keep windows in track and how to OPEN a locked door?

This is exactly what happened. I ended up having to buy a whole new regulator which was $157 after tax. Thanks for the input

First, the window issue only existed with the assembly line regulators. The replacements were redesigned for greater durability, and I have NEVER seen a new one go bad.

If you've had all four replaced, your window problems are over.

Second, if a rear door won't open for any reason (siezed latch, jammed linkage, whatever...) the best option is to remove the back seat to provide room to get the door panel off, force the latch open from inside the door, and then do the required repairs.

Someone who's a genius with a SlimJim might be able to catch the right linkage just the right way and get the door open so it can be worked on...

RE: I need help ASAP please

I'm also a newbie. The dealer wants to charge me $1,350.00 to replace the passenger side side airbag. Does anybody know if this is reasonable? It sounds very high to me.

RE: I need help ASAP please

Most airbags retail for ~ $1000 to $1400.

That's why most theft recovery vehicles are found with the factory stereos still in them and the airbags gone!!

Because of their prices, there's a HUGE blackmarket for stolen or used airbags.
