ideals at 1800, code 121

Suddenly my 94 started to idle at crazy high rpms. I drove home from work, all was good. Couple hours later, it is idling at 3000. Today tried again and its around 1800-2000.

It reads code 121 "closed throttle voltage higher or lower than expected"

Is it jumping to conculsions to just replace the TPS?

Nope! Replace it.

It won't fix your problem. The TPS doesn't control the idle, the idle control valve does. It's getting stuck open....

The TPS code is telling you that the throttle body is closed YET the idle is higher then it's supposed to be.
