Ignition Switch

I have a problem with this switch on my early '95, I need to exchange it. I have red depending of the year there is a hole to push inside with a small rod to extract, or depose the steering to extract. Normally in mine there is the hole but impossible to extract the switch. Is there a special manner for that?

Thank you

Are you doing it with the key in? The key must be in to extract and turned to the start position. Also you will want to disconnect the battery or the alarm will go off.

You need to tell us if you're talking about ignition switch or ignition lock cylinder. What symptoms is your car experiencing?

Hey everyone I am having the same issue with a 71 Mark III. I dont have the old keys, thats why I need to replace the cylinder. Any pointers on removing it would be great.

Without the keys I am not sure what you could do. Its been WAY too long since I worked on the Mark IV much less a III.

Is there a hole underneath to push the pin in? If so, drill it to remove that pin. I *think* all that holds it in is that pin. So if you remove the pin it should slide out.

there isnt a hole underneath, but they is a "slot" connected to where the hazards switch is, think it could be up there??

On my Mark there is a hole in place to access the push pin on the switch, no need to remove the lower plastic piece.

yeah sorry unity i just used pics from martin's hid conversion, you dont have to take the clam shell off i should have said that but my old lady was rushing me to eat dinner!
there is a hole in the clamshell on all 93-96 mark VIII's so its just a matter of putting a pick in the hole and getting it to line up with the pin. usually takes a minute or two!
