RE: im changin to springs and struts
The T-Bird IS independant rear suspension. 1992-1997 T-Bird(MN12 chassis)
You can use T-Bird front, and rear springs/shocks...but the T-Bird rear springs will sit too low compared to the front, so you need to be sure to install the rear spring isolators sold at mn-12 performance...they are little round rubber "coasters" that insulate between the lower control arm and the coil.

You will also need to upper spring locators...they hold the spring centered, and in position...the kits out there come with them, but if you just buy T-Bird rear springs, you will have to make/find them.
BTW, have you checked the prices of the conversion kits?
They are only around $400 and come with everything you need, and a lifetime warranty...AND they are the right height...direct bolt in....only thing extra you'd need is new rear shocks...if you even need them.
I'd recommend a coil conversion kit, specifically for the Mark VIII....and then a pair of Monroe sensatrac shocks for a 92-97 T-Bird(part number is 5965).
I've done 3 of them, and have helped about 20+ others do this swap...it's easier, and in the long run, less work/cheaper.
I'd recommend this kit:

But if you insist on building your own, YES, a T-Bird is correct...the 92-97 T-Birds ALL came with independant rear suspension, like the Mark VIII.
