IMRCs to Trigger NOS???

Is it as easy as I think? A WOT switch in series with a switch that opens when the IMRC's open? Should work fine. No Window switch needed. Discussion??

Whoops, meant to say the IMRC switch closes when they open. IOW, when at WOT and the IMRC's are open, the juice is ON.

I suppose a relay interfaced with the IMRC solenoid would do what you want. I'm still trying to figure the 'why' behind it.

If it were me, I would wire the relay and WOT switch and use an indicator light to simulate the 'trigger' and see if meets your expectations before wiring it to spray.

RE: IMRCs to Trigger NOS???

Ahh.. My reason for using the IMRC's AND WOT to trigger is so that the spray won't come on unless the engine is at 3K+ RPM and fully nailed . The IMRCs basically replace the window switch. Also, planning on wiring the relay to the SPOUT connector to take a few degrees of timing out when juiced.

Now THAT I did think of. :) I think it's 2 degrees?

RE: IMRCs to Trigger NOS???

Yeah, I heard it was only 2 degrees too.. I think a ECM tune can make it whatever you want however.

How about just do it right the first time and buy a window switch. THey are not that expensive.

Hi Ponyfreak..

Maybe your issue is that I'll hit the rev limiter, the nitrous and fuel will load up, then goes KA-BOOM when the ignition kicks back in??? That'd be a bad day.

I have so much invested in NOS now.. 5115 system, Bottle Heater, NOS Pressure switch, fuel pressure switch, pressure gauge, purge valve, bottle opener etc. What's a window switch gonna cost, and how does it wire in? It hooks into the tachometer line somewhere? With an 5.4 truck automatic w/shift kit, I shouldn't need the high RPM cutoff, just the no juice till it's WOT and >3000 RPM kind of logic. When it's ON, I don't plan on letting it off till I'm done. If it hits the rev limiter, then other problems need to be addressed (like raise the rev limiter, or fix a slow shift).

more info on a window switch?

Not if you tune it right.

If you've got your shift points done right, you can turn off the rev limiter altogether. Manual tranny guys know about hitting the shift at redline...
