I woke up for work this moring went out to start the car and it was draggin azz. well what was I going to do I had to get to work so i drove it. OH I live on a dirt road great. it took me longer to get to the end of my road being carefull of the pot holes then it did to get to work. Anyway if I bend over can someone remove the pipe. Im feelin like ive been screewed Let me vent sorry about this. I won the car on Ebay a week ago 97 triple black LSC w/136000mi for $2550. Im in MA. the car was in NJ two and half hr. drive I think i dont remember. afrend and I go Im really exited about the car one I alwas wanted on the Ebay auction it said (some clear coat peeling,(in the pic it showed it on the hood) a crack on the front upper bumper between the hood and head light. I saw it in the pic. drove great and straight. leathers in mint shape the hole nine yards) Well we get there and cars sittin good hasn't been drivin in 2 weeks (a little rust on the rotors) the clear coat peeling was not only on the hood but most of the roof. The small crack HA HA was a crack from the hood to the grill that someone put duck tape over and there where three dry way screews holding the head light in. The driver seat was busted the leather is in good shape. it pulls to the left and when you hit the brakes it pulls hard to the left. After talking to the guy about this crap I only paid $2000. I drove it home with no other prob. in the moring I wake up go and wash the car and take a look at the front damage thats when I find the front upper bumper needs replacing (If anyone knows where I can get one that would be great) and 2 days later the check air ride comes up but nothing seems to be not working. now I know im on barrowed time. so this moring go out and find I have a really low lowrider. I felt alittle better on my way home I saw a escort wagon teal for sale for $2000 and thought I COULD BE DRIVING THAT thanks for letting me vent Ron B.

A 97 at that price and with those problems is still not a bad buy. Talk to Eddie at www.americanairsuspension.com. He'll help diagnose your problem and sell you good quality parts for a low price. Most everything in the rear is fairly easy to work on yourself - it's only slightly more difficult than changing the oil.

For the bumper, there are some guys on the site that are parting out their cars. They might have something. If not, go to www.car-part.com.

As for the pulling to the left, this sounds like an alignment/bushing problem, since it pulls with the brakes applied and not. The common culprit is the strut rod bushing, but at 136K miles, you would be better off rebuilding the front end. All of the parts can be had for around 700-800 bucks (assuming the air struts are okay), but you'd need to be a seasoned mechanic to rebuild it all. Otherwise you could take the parts to a mechanic and expect to be charged for about 3 hours of work. (It took me about 6, but I don't have a lift)

All-in-all your car isn't that bad.

Oh great thanks for the help I can do the work myself and I repaired the seat it was a steal track that broke in two places I welded it up and its all good. I think im going to try and paint the car myself this summer and I beleave Im going to put in the springs lowered ones and rebuild the front end but Im Prob. going to have to sell my ATV for the cash im not sure yet but you do think it was a good buy

I have to agree, you got a good deal on it..and it needs a little work.
you really cant expect a 2000 dollar car to be perfect.

Get some air ride parts with the money you saved in the auction, no worries.

hang in there, it's not all that bad

I just ordered the conversion kit stock hight from american air suspension I was going to use SCPP but they don't take American Express now Im excited and can't wait to install the kit anything I should know that won't be in the instructions

Here's some free advice:

Start spraying the lower bolt (connecting to the lower control arms) of the front airsprings with PB Blaster or some other penetrating oil. Spray them every couple of days until your new parts arrive.

These bolts can be very difficult to remove from the bushings.:frown:
