Well here I am. Cantankerous, boastful, argument prone, and overall way too wordy for my own good.

I have this crazy idea that my Mark VIII is not only fun to drive, gets good MPG, is comfortable and reliable, but also that it cuts a pretty good time at the drag strip.

Crazy I know.

If you have absolutely nothing better to do, you might take a quick look at this video, it has my car in it:

You can thank Jamie for that.

Yup, I still have the '94. I'll probably end up being buried in the thing.

like austin powers would say: I THANK YOU! welcome Devin, see, he was sad because he thought i bailed out of the mark VIII community, but in fact, its because i was banned somewhere else, so now he knows where i have been hiding!!!

I haven't bought much stuff from Jamie (although the things that I have were remarkably well packaged) but it is always a comfort knowing that he is there if I do need something.

I'm not going to rehash the whole banning issue. That being said, its very nice to know that you are not gone, you just moved. :big-grin:

The sound is pretty easy. I have an electronic exhaust cutout right after the cat/resonator combo. The resonator keeps it from sounding like a tractor, and having control over the cutout from inside the car lets me be obnoxious when I want and polite when I need to be.

Driller: 13.433 at 104.52... are you on dragtimes.com? I think I displaced you when I put in my time!

I really want to talk to you, because as far as I can tell you did that on a N/A motor. You could really help me get to a goal that I have set for myself this year.

Hoot! You're almost in the 12s! :D

But you're a good 1000 lbs lighter and running a 100 shot?!

(Wondering how fast the Blue Flame would be after loosing 1000lbs and running a 100 shot... )

WTH did you take out to loose 1000 lbs!!??

(FYI - the 13.4@104 was N/A with a negative density altitude. See the link(s) in my sig for more 411. ;) )

That 1000 pound loss was easy... I just missed the 4 and hit 3 accidentally, and now dragtimes.com won't let me change it for some reason. You can change everything else, but the weight is set in stone. Oh well. At least I am glad that someone noticed that and thought "what the hey?"

I have a goal this year of reducing the no2 to a 75 shot and also reducing my 1/4 ET to 12.5. Currently I am running on street tires and I have to granny every launch or I am in spin city, and the fact that I am wanting to move out of the factory stall converter up to something much higher will only add to that problem. I feel strongly that with a good converter and a set of DRs in the back that my goal is obtainable.

I am very glad to see that there are people on this site that have pushed NA Mark VIIIs into the lower half of 13. It strongly reinforces my opinion that there's a lot farther that I can go with mine without getting extremely radical in my modifications.

I am really pleased at the amount of welcome I have gotten on here! :) Warms the heart!

LOL... OK that explains a lot. I'm sure if you send a message to the webmaster there they would gladly fix it.

I think with traction you could achieve your goals. I would suggest the tires first and make sure you over-do it because when you get a good converter, you don't want to have to buy tires again. :)
