I've got the Blend Door Blues...

Looks as though I've joined the blend door gang as I'm unable to get warm air out of the heater, regardless the temperature setting. Temperate gauge indicates mid-normal but the heater just pushes luke warm air regardless the climate control setting...

I think I'll try the interim fix first before tackling the more permanent fix, which probably involves removing the dash.

The good news, there is plenty of knowledge surrounding this problem. The bad news is, I have to execute the fix!!!

(Sigh)....

I was the founder and President of that club till they kicked me out a couple of days ago. Finished mine Monday noon.

Let me tell you, it’s not a tough job, it’s just VERY time consuming, and your hands will be subjected to many cuts. I would help you out if I was up there, do not let those who took it to the dealer tell you it’s an impossible Job :)

Thanks Moe, for the vote of confidence. I'm pretty sure I can do this if I have to, especially seeing as the dealer fix price is so high...

By the way, your post count is sitting at 999....

One more and it'll be celebrating your 1000th post :+

Neil; LMK if you want a quote to get it done. My mechanic is in Oakville but he has done it before.

RE: I've got the Blend Door Blues...

Thanks Guys:

I'm part way through it. I managed to break one of the coffee holder arms the week before so I have the console out and in the basement for repair. In the meantime, I have the blend door tied in place to get warm air (good 'ole stove pipe wire for that jury rig). I also picked up a manual choke assy., in case I decide to "ride it out" over the winter. I figure that worse case, I can manually adjust it. A McGiver I know, but a $10 fix is ok for the time being. I do have the motor assy on order and that's only $45, which is not too bad... Now I need a warm day to tackle the job (and a lot of courage and luck to boot!)

Back to the basement and the task at hand...
