I left a post asking some questions regarding the procedure and received the answers that I needed. Just wanted to say thanks for the guys who have taken the time to post information on here. I am glad I went to the trouble of doing this mod. When I pulled the pan, I could not believe how filthy the tranny fluid was. I ended up going with Mercon V and spent around $50 total on fluid. The car shifts beautifully now and its a wonder why Ford didnt attempt to design the shift like this to begin with. 1-2 doesnt shift nearly as hard as I thought it would (based on what I read). I do hear what sounds like the belt slipping when it shifts though. I changed both accumulators (just to be safe), removed lower spring and replaced upper with the brown spring that was suggested. Thanks again...
 
I thought it was the blue spring that was suggested. I believe the blue one is sold instead of the brown one now.

I was just trying to remember which spring to leave out, upper or lower.
 
That squeal is your supertine belt on the engine. Could be telling you it needs replacing, also check the tensioner and idle pulley while you are looking,
