18x9 Cragar or Bullit style chrome wheels from ebay designed specifically for Mark VIII's and Tbirds. Figured this way would be better than brake/hub conversion or the need for spacers. Well, maybe not better than the brake/hub conversion but cheaper. I've got a set of 1" 4.25 to 4.50 spacers if anybody wants for for sale (should be able to use Mustang '05-07 wheels with these) I'll post pics once they are installed.

Those are fantastic wheels. I know of a very special, and awesome 1996 on this board that has em. Bling Bling.

Haha, I'm "LOL"n about the fact that you went through all that crap...just to go buy some nice rims with the M8 bolt pattern :D

Trial and error....

I couldn't find any wheels like this. Then the seller of these, which sells a lot of wheels on Ebay posted up a single 17" Cobra wheel for the Mark VIII. I asked him if he had a full set and he responded that he does plus he said he had the 18" bullit/cragar style ones. When he put them on ebay I snatched them up. Most wheels for the Mark VIII are 7"-7 1/2" wide, I wanted the wider wheels and dont care for most of the aftermarket "bling" wheels. So anyway, I had decided to just do the hub conversion and use Mustang wheels till these came up. I found these wheels in one other place, Super Coupe Performance but they wanted $239/each plus shipping. I picked this whole set up for $650 plus $90 for shipping including lugs and 2 sets of centercaps.

I'm thinking of using 245/45/18's in front and 275/40/18's out back. Think the 275's will work?. These wheels have a 36mm offset.

I know the 245s will work. Several have that width at the proper offset wheel. I think 255s may be safe in the rear, possibly 265s on some cars.

Alrighty then, 245's it is. I was hoping for something a little wider in back but this is more sensible and I'll be able to rotate the tires. Thanks. ;)

275's rubbed on my car, but it is 3 inches lower than a stock M8.

If you're car isn't lowered, and you roll the lip on the fenderwell 275's should work fine...maybe wider. But I don't remember if 36mm offset is the correct one.

stock wheels are 39mm so it pretty close.

I have the 99 cobra wheels....so I'm thinking mine are closer to the ones you're buying. You may be able to fit 275's....and that would be sweet!

Your cobra wheels have a 24-26mm offset. But you are using Mustang hubs and I dont know how many mm that is compared with the Mark VIII ones. Anyway J, I know how much work you have in your car and I'm curious if you ever ran your car at the track and what times it ran (if you did)?. Also, I think you have 4.10 gears, what kind of difference did that make?. What rpm's are you turning at 70mph?. Worth doing or would a 3.73 be better?.

The gears were a HUGE difference, but the Trac-Lok was probably the best upgrade...no point having gears if you're still gonna rip the tread off of one tire, haha.

70mph....maybe 2200rpms.

3.73's are a waste of time, expecially now that you've bought yourself some 18's! You'll need a taller ratio to get those heavy things moving :D

I still get 22-23mpg at 75mph(per the message center) so its not bad at all.

Also...check my cardomain for all my mods and videos.

Ohhh...Mr. Smarty pants, haha. I checked my video and I guess it didn't seem(sound) like it was that "high".

Yes....true, haha. Thinking about the offset too much and forgot about the width of the rim.
