Purchased a 1998 Mark V111 LSC last Friday.
It's an absolutely beautiful car black/grey. I was told it was triple black - what does that mean?
After having the car for almost a week now, I have gone over it with a very fine eye and I am in need of 2 things:
1 - an ashtray
2 - emergency brake release cover (gray) located on the floor left side of drivers seat.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

RE: Just bought ??

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Do you have a carriage top on the car?? If that was black that might be where they got it from. Second of all, the technical color for your interior is 'Graphite' some one may have listed it as black before seeing the car.

I cant help you on the ashtray, but just so you don't go looking for a grey brake release handle, I have the graphite interior as well and my release is black.

RE: Just bought ??

Congrats on the purchase!

What part of the ashtray do you need exactly? I'm assuming you mean the one in the console just behind the shifter. A few people have had trouble with the door breaking, and the only way to repair it is to replace the whole console ($$$$ for new parts).

PS - I've only heard the term triple-black used with convertibles, that have black paint, black interior, and black top.

RE: Just bought ??

Good luck with it. I am not sure if those parts are available individually from the dealer but you can ask. If not you can try on line auctions like e-bay or salvage yards for miscellaneous parts.

Bob
In My teen years Triple black meant Black padded top, Black interior and Black paint.

Good luck with the ride.
