Wow, no ones posted new times on here in a while. Did you guys give up on racing or something? haha I havent been to the track in over three weeks due to rain, broken essentials on car, appointments, and the track catering to the mini dragsters taken over the track on last weekend. No cars were allowed. It's open this weekend for the cars, but im going to Jacksonville FL. Hope they have thier track open, going through withdrawls. lol.

Ha! I am just now recovering from my shock treatment at WFC9! }( :D :B :D }( :7

RE: just checking...

I drag raced the navigator this weekend. No timing lights though, and i couldn't see the starter. It was me vs. a new F150, an old straigh six F150, a cherokee, and a few other vehicles. The ATV's ran away from us at the beginning, i was neck and neck with the new F150 but edged him out in the end, then i had to nail the brake so i didn't catch air off the whoops. Oh, this was on sand, in 4x4 of course. 12 psi out back and 12.5 up front seemed to give me a decent launch :)

RE: just checking...

I haven't raced in a long time, but after seeing the races this weekend at WFC9, I do have to say I'm anxious to give it a go again. Gotta get my gears in though.

RE: just checking...

I will be taking the red car out this weekend. Going to run it now that I got everything running good and should have the slicks on as well. Also hooked up the 175 shot. Going to hit it with the mark VIII intake before the cobra intake goes on.

RE: just checking...

It's been just too hot here. I'm wanting to see if I can bust my 13.29 with the new trans and TC but I know it won't do it with 100+ degree weather. My new TC doesn't stall anywhere near where the old one did either so that's a disappointment. I also have to pick up some new wheels for the DRs since I switched to the Mustang bolt pattern.

Wow what a blast from the past. Long time since I have seen anything posted from Lonnie!

Putting hardened sheel studs in the red car tonight so I can run slicks tomorrow. Taking an extra halfshaft to the track in case I break one...

RE: just checking...

Friday night T&T was rained out and SAT T&T was canceled due to memorial day event. :O( No luck

Yeah, I've had to keep a low profile for awhile... I didn't go with the hardened studs in the rear but I should have. I did the fronts only because I have to use a 1/4" spacer to keep the rims from rubbing on the spindle. So I installed the longer studs after I cut them down to the length I needed.

As for the rear, I've been plagued with a bad trans for awhile so it was a slow process. When replacing the trans with a fully built unit we found I had burned up another PI triple disc. So a custom TC was built for me. While testing the new parts something went wrong and I ended up with a very bad vibration. We figured I broke a half shaft or V-joint during the romping. Checked things out and found a V-joint gone so ordered a set of R-axles for it. While replacing the shafts I found both splines were twisted pretty bad so it was only a matter of time before those went. Replaced the bearings while I was at it. Still had the vibration so checked the work and found one of the new bearings had failed. So in with another set and still a vibrations. Put the car on the lift to run it and possibly see what the hell was going on and found a wheel was bent at the hub. So the 03 Cobra wheels were swapped along with the bolt pattern.

After that I still had the vibration so next was the rear end. It was just over the max for play so it got rebuilt. While it was out I checked out the MMC drive shaft, it looked good. Even tried indexing it. New rear went in and same problem. Replaced all subframe mounts and same thing. New tires and balance, same thing.

Finally resorted to trying the stock drive shaft and all was good. Sent the shaft back to Dynotech and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So I had them magniflux it, then replace the U-joints and rebalance it. Still haven't had time to stick it back in yet and test it.

But I've been able to get the programming right for this new trans and TC at least.

Was hoping to hit the track this weekend but it just didn't work out as planned.
