After much searching for advice and tips, I decided to join as I hope I can contribute as much as I have learned from the site. I own a 93 mark and a 99 Conti after many years of BMW ownership including several 5 series "M" models (hence the moniker).
I recently "reaquired" my beloved [purchased new in Feb 93) from my mother-in-law after she paid me a very fair price for it. It was something she "had to have" and I let my wife talk me into selling it to her. A week ago tonight (about this same time) she called me as said it had failed smog inspection and she didn't want to fix it. (it produced 0.22 on the Nox limit of .20 all other reading were way below limits) I put on a new EGR valve and gasket ($125) and it passed today. I don't think I'll ever let it go again!
I bought the 99 Conti to bridge me until the new car arrives in (hopefully) May. I just can't get enough of the 4.6!
I have a couple of questions I will post in the appropriate forum later (Convert to Double DIN and need flame-throwers for it).
