does anyone here have the kenne bell blowzilla supercharger installed on their car....I saw an 03 cobra upgrade with one of these suckers...man i want one what kind of mods are required to install in the mark...also I was thinking about getting a 96-98 cobra motor or possibly a Mark motor from stangparts.com(since i have 146k,but runs great)also how much could I get for my old mark motor if i was to sell it and buy one of the others i mentioned...you guys are great thanks for any info...jeff

RE: k.bell blowzilla

There are a couple people that have the Kenne Bell Twin Screw superchargers on their Marks. I believe they are 2nd Gens. The kit to use on the Marks is the one for 96-98 Mustang Cobras. I have looked into this option somewhat and when the money comes in I am planing on buying it.

RE: k.bell blowzilla

if you want you can change your whole engine to a 03 cobra then put a blowzilla on it other wise you will never be able to reach the numbers on pump gas and out put as the o3 cobra guys on you regular old mark engine.

RE: k.bell blowzilla

yeah, I have already thought about the 03 swap but the 12,000 price tag is out of my budget, how much does a low mile 96-01 cobra motor go for?,how much is the rebuild on a Mark engine?I'd like to do a Cobra swap and be able to add a supercharger later.

Can it be bolted onto a 1st Gen?

RE: k.bell blowzilla

If it fits a 2nd gen, it should bolt to a 1st gen as well. The only thing you might have problems with that I don't think the 2nd gen's have to worry about is hood clearance.

Just an FYI though....the local guys have been having better luck with the Whipple's over the KB's on their 03/04 Cobra's.

Thanks...very useful info.

I did plan on replacing the hood for clearance.

About the Whipple...by "better luck" do you mean performance-wise or installation-wise...or both? And would the "better luck" also apply to my 96 Mark VIII?

RE: k.bell blowzilla

Well, they've been able to squeeze a little bit more power out of them. One of them cracked off a couple of 10 second times at the track last weekend with STOCK (except for the front diff mounts and cover brace) rear suspension.

RE: k.bell blowzilla

but does whipple even make a kit for 96-8 motors? i thought they entered the Ford enviroment with the 03+ cobra's...

RE: k.bell blowzilla

Last I checked (er, e-mailed) they had something in the development stages. This was a while ago when I was thinking about throwing some boost at my car (and I'm starting to think about it here again)....
