I thought this was super unique. I had to take pics. Anyone know what it is? I'll post the last pic that gives the name away. It is owned by one of my clients and from what i was told it's imported and rare to find one complete.

Lol. Well, as an English guy i should know it! They were very popular in the early 80's, even the police force used them. My grandad had a 2600 auto SD1 rusting away in his garden for years and my uncle had an earlier generation 2000. Those 3500 V8 engines are something of a legend - they were used in all sorts of stuff from kit cars to Landrovers, to TVRs. I think we stole the design from a Chrysler marine engine. Many people consider the SD 1 to be one of the last good cars to come from Rover - consequently they have something of a 'cult' following. I like them alot. Good find! :)

I dunno why either, really. I guess its just the fact that it was a very versatile engine, kinda like the Chevy small block. Was small, cheap, relatively simple and could be tuned / built from mild to wild. All in the past now though, British car industry is virtually extinct.
