Who wants to meet up at Atlanta or closer to Florida track for some NA runs? Before i drop the nose again and put the intercooler on? Had it all off once and made carboard brackets but wwaiting on them being made before i take a cutter to the front facia bumper and section it in with fiberglass spoiler lip. Car has sat in garage since last superheavyweight shooutout and is crying for some more runs on the slicks NA. I have sat and sunday off. Ill be gettin out of work too late on friday night for test and tune.

Noo way its gonna happen

Noo way its gonna happen

I want to see you break the record for fastest NA Mark VIII... you have the power (MPH) to do it...

hehe Lonnie will never allow it. haha Just teasin Lonnie. I very much doubt ill be breakin the record with my current convertor. It slips at 95-110 (wasting power) then locks up and at 120 the rear slides to the right. Did 15 runs tonight on my favorite back road. Same thing everytime. I tried it holding stall, and the rest of the times just flashing the convertor by slamming the pedal to the floor. Then i got that sixth sense that i was being watched, so i drove outta there doing regular speed limit savoring the smoke that made its way into car. Where i was, they have night vision.

The record breaking is not gonna happen till i get Lonnies new lockup convertor. By then ill have the ProCharger installed and ill definately be in the 12's. I'll wear the helmet and the Nomex Jacket I have, but this car aint getting rollcaged so that will be the best of it.
I'll have to sneak to different tracks so they wont know who i am untill its too late. lol "Get that boy outta here...haha he aint runnin no more without a rollcage!!!!":wink2-green

The new rules are you don't need a roll cage unless you run faster than 11.5 so i don't think you will have any problems at low-moderate boost.

Never made it to the track. got invited to a bbcue clambake and that sounded more interesting mingling with single females throwing down some beers. haha
Is this really working? haa I'm on 56k Earthstink dialup back in the stone ages. Haven't been able to get the internet to work properly since my switch from flawless Cox cable. Forget uploading pics with dialup or seeing any ones on here that i click on. :-( Never had a prob with them and i miss it terribly. No cable is available out here in the woods. I'd have to go direct tv stailite, but thats only 1.5M dl and 230 upload. Im waiting for Embarq phone company to upgrade my server out here and offer me the 5.0M dl and 740kbps upload with the DSL. Just not enough customers out here yet.
Anyways.
The teardown starts tommorow. I'm a little worried as my last cruise/beat session this weekend has led to the passenger side chain rattle. I hope it's only my belt tensioner that has gone out, but i wont know untill tommorow when i pull it off with radiator and upper crossover tube. I'll run it for a sec with no belt on to see if it still makes the rattle. I did the long skinny screwdriver trick to ear as a stehescope, and it sounded to be comming from the tensioner area thereand not the tensioner or pulley.
To the ones who have already done this...Can the valvecovers and front cover/chain cover be removed with engine still in car? Id want to get in there and tighten up the slide adjusters i read about on the mustang board. looking at it tonight it appears id have to unbolt the crossmember and jack up the engine a little to get clearance for them to come off. Front is no problem, but the valvecovers look like a tough squeeze. All the fluids will be drained tommorow and nose taken back off. Well see. Im in the process of trying to find my digital camera that was lost in the move, or id post pics. :big-grin:

The valvecovers are a tight squeeze but doable in the car. The DS is tough - either remove brake lines or loosen and bungee over the master cylinder.

Good luck!:)

Whoo hooo! My tensioner is wasted!

Whoo hooo! My tensioner is wasted!

Glad to find a loose tensioner and siezed pulley. Pulley turned while bolted to engine if you forced it. Took it off and tried to rotate the bearing inside with thumb and it could not be done. Cranked over car with no plug wires and coils. Smooth as silk and no rattles i thought was the upper cam chains. Im so happy...haha Got the entire front nose off now and cutting and making room for the intercooler. Work is going slow, but its going at least and hour or two a night before bed. I was dragging feet for a while knowing id have to yank heads and front cover off. The only time i wanna do that is if i go with the navi/mustang cams when it comes time for a new forged bottom end. I knew this one shouldnt be rattling at only 10,000 miles or so. I bought it with 6,000 miles on the clock.

I can't believe the belt was not shredding with all the heat in that general area. Indian burn city on that pulley. haha Wonder how much horses it was sapping if just doing underdrive pullies will net you about 2-8 hp.
Who knows...Both are getting replaced with new ones and ProCharger will be installed. More to come...Wish i had my digital cam for pics, but lost it in the move. Ill have to pick up another Cannon at Wallyworld again.

Glad to hear it's coming along. :)

If you hurry just a bit, you can beat Mike!

Yep, just pretend youre drunk when looking at these pics. I appologize ahead of time for the blurriness. These were taken from my samsung cell phone. The lens has stuff all over it from dropping it many times. But you get the picture...or sort of. lol:big-grin:
