Well, 'doing the round trip drive to Colorado again this year, (12 days) - the G.F. is going this time and is totally psyched! She's so excited she's alreay packed/repacked at least 5 times!
We're leaving CA through Tahoe and Reno, then dropping down through Salt Lake City to spend a couple nights at the family ski lodge in Brekenridge, CO, before visiting the folks for a few days in Berthoud, CO, about 50 mile north of Denver. Then we're heading south through Taos, NM, and Mesa Verde, on to the Grand Canyon, then Las Vegas, Death Vally, and back through Yosemite.
'Did a similar trip last year in the Mark VIII with zero problems - hopefully it'll be the same this year. I did get an extra CD cartridge for the trip this time so I can just keep 20 CDs loaded.
Also, you may remember last year and my quest for getting a NASCAR type windshield tear-off to keep from totally pitting out my windshield out across the desert, like what happened to my T-Bird. I finally got some last year from the actual NASCAR supplier, but have determined it's virtually the identical film Tap Plastics sells as glass safety film - completely clear - I've already tested it. So this year I'm doing my own.
Anyway, I'm taking a laptop, and will be checking in intermittently, and also be here until Monday...
