He means.. rotate the crankshaft around as to bring each torque convertor bolt around to the access opening for removal.

coupla things:

i should have said "disconnect" the wiring harness and shift cable. they don't need to be actually removed.

And i forgot about the two driveshaft loops that also have to come out in order to remove the driveshaft. but that'll become obvious really quick.

i suggest starting on your parts car so you can get some experience before you tackle the nice one.

yea... you left out "disconnect the battery" too, but that will become painfully obvious if he's working on a LIVE CAR.

One of the starter wires is "always" hot.. attempts to remove it without taking the battery loose will result in a cool shower of neato sparks.

but..it's a given that anytime you work on anything electrical that you should disconnect the battery as a matter of common sense.

your instructions were brief, but I completely understood what you meant.

a newbie might not see it as "clear".

I think your instructions were fine, abliet breif.

I really made it sound simple, didn't I?

It's not that tough, but it is a royal PITA. Give yourself the weekend for the job with at least one helper. And have some oil-dry ready.

Here's your disclaimers/safety advice: always chock the wheels and set the parking brake before lifting a vehicle, and support it safely on sturdy jackstands on level ground before getting underneath it. Or put it on a lift if you are so lucky. Always disconnect the battery before working on your vehicle, it's good practice even if you are not working on the electrical system. And when working around the fuel tank or fuel system, do not smoke or have open flame nearby.

UPDATE:
I found a couple spots on the body where the lightning arced on the car. I'll try to get a few photos so everyone can see it. -- of course the shop didn't fix them because the shop is run by a bunch of ignorant jerks but that's another story. The visible damage from the lightning is peculiar looking to say the least.

Update: The tranny wasn't related to lightning. So says the shop anyway... and they'd know because they work on so many lightning cars... lmao. right. Anyway, I paid the $1300 for that. The car still has issues. This is such a damn mess I'm making a web page for it. With photos.

Quadruple WOW! Man, sorry to hear about the Mark! But sometimes, when I turn on my heat or A/C and change the temperature, the blend door makes some kind of squirting or clicking noise. Have you ever heard this before? Do you think this sound is even remotely close? It is like a clicking noise?

About your tranny? The noise, does the tranny shift funny? Do you notice the RPM's fluctuting between gears? If you could drive the car normally and let me know at what speeds the car shifts at?

If the shop repaired the tranny and it was not the problem, how can they charge for that? They are the experts, they must have diagnosed the problem wrong. No?
