Lil help. my gf drove my mark, and now...

There should be more drivers like you Rene.....notice I did NOT say women??? I've seen too many guys cars that look exactly like you just described your sister's.

LOL, one of our mechanics at work is like that. he has to move piles of parts to make room for a passenger to ride. His ride is a rolling deathtrap.

You're playing it safe, not saying women - you must be married! :tongue-pink:

I've been a "car guy" since birth, thanks to my Dad

The fuel button includes a spring, a metal "triangle" and the button. Mine broke too, its not your GF's fault, it just goes! You can use a paperclip to touch the contacts in the inside of the button. You have to hit them both at the same time. Its either this(the hard way) or the trunk trick until you replace the button.

Once you get yourself a new button, just use a small screw driver to pry the bad one up and it will pull right out of the door panel.

Thanks for the tip. I've had a fuel door button sitting on the shelf for a month now waiting for me to get around to taking the door panel off, and two minutes after reading this the button is in and working great. Never would have thought it was that easy.

This sounds like my sister - she and I are complete opposites on the treatment of cars. She has so much junk in her 4-door car, she has to move piles in order for you to sit in it. :mad-tilt:

My roommate is the same way. When my car breaks down he lets me drive one of his. I have to remove all the fast food bags he leaves in there. It makes it smell too, sitting out in the hot sun.

I also have to clean all the windows before I can drive it. I don't know how he can see through the grime.

I cannot stand a dirty car. I've even gotten into arguments with my dad about the state of his cars. He lets his step kids trash them.

Oh Paul and Jerry... lol.

But yeah, in our house it's the exact opposite. Hubby's car is the mess, and I hate to let him drive mine cause something always breaks and he leaves crap in it.

That's why I did that quickie edit. Just as there are car guys, I've learned there are car gals, and Trixie your a fine example.

yeah. well the reason she was driving my car.... she totaled hers...

I had mixed feelings about letting her drive, but the Mark usually sits around as I got a company car with free gas right now.

these are just the things I have found, and she has come forward with. There are all sorts of random stains from soda and makeup too. I am one of those people that doesn't leave trash in the car....she is...

I think her lincoln privileges have been revoked.

well that would have done it for me! She totaled hers and now look at ya. :)
