The Lincoln Navigator K concept was designed to look sophisticated with "just a hint of a sinister side," says Chris Theodore, vice president of advanced product creation.

The concept, which has a black exterior and red leather interior, is powered by a 385-hp, supercharged 5.4-liter, V-8 engine. It is the same engine in Ford's SVT F-150 Lightning pickup, but the Lincoln version gains 5 hp.

This is the first Lincoln concept designed by the Ford Performance Group.

The Navigator K features larger wheels and tires than the production Navigator. The concept has custom, 20-inch chrome wheels and tires. It also has monochromatic black paint on the bottom of the front fascia. Production Navigators are gray.

Interior changes include bright satin nickel-finished interior accents, which replace the wooden accents on the production Navigator.

Lincoln says it will show the Navigator K concept at auto shows and other events to gauge market preferences for performance parts and products from Lincoln.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I think I'd get tired of that interior in about a week !!

My father had a charcoal beemer with a bright red interior. With dark tint, it is not nearly that obnoxious looking. It actually looked good.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I rented a car with red interior for a week and that’s all it took to tell me it is a good color for someone else’s car interior but not mine.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I dont know about anyone else, but I think the "bright satin nickel-finished interior accents" pretty much sucks.

Bring back my wood trim!

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

The red is lame to say the least but why they had to make the steering wheel red is beyond me.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I wouldn't have one with a red interior, but if I were going to have an SUV that would be it. Simply because of the boogie factor.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I can understand a performance car, but why the freakin red? This will bomb too and ford will scratch their heads and wonder why euro sport cars sell better.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I'm loveing the car but hateing the interior..if that makes any sense.

I'm sure the dealership could work with you though and have the regular gator interior put in. Its so very attractive. I was thinking the Aviator would be my next car... but... this is just so very attractive. :) I like

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

They should have put that drivetrain in the Aviator, then theyÕd have something. My choice would be to not own an SUV, but if I had to have one, that might not be a bad choice.

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

youve gotta be kidding me. lincoln finally decides to put some performance to their name and its in the friggin navigator? why dont they put some nuts on that garbage they call the LS before they start making useless SUV power?

I agree with you from an enthusiast's standpoint. But trucks and SUVs are hot right now, and there's more profits to be had. Not to mention the looser emissions requirements for trucks, so it's probably easier (cheaper) to get it certified.

But you'd think with Cadillac releasing all these new "exciting, sporty" cars that Lincoln might take the hint, too, and make SOMETHING worth talking about.

i think it's a good idea like it has been said already... but 385 hp in a 6000 pound "truck" is really not enough...

RE: Lincoln intraduces Navigator K concept

I like it, interior and all. Maybe it's because I'm not an old fart like the rest of you. :)

You guys are right though, why doesn't Lincoln do something different and make a 2-door 4.6L with an optional supercharger?

Im not an old fart, and I gotta tell you......... I pretty much cant stand the direction Lincoln is going with they're models and design choices. They are becoming cars which have no power and cheezy interiors. I have to say, If someone handed me a free car coupon, I would not make it a Lincoln, but would have to go to cadillac seville. This is from someone who has NEVER owned a car that wasnt a ford product.. From mustangs to lincolns, Ive always preferred ford products, and its a shame.
