I visited the LS owners club today to get some info on the cars as a possible garage mate for my LSC.

Can't browse the archives without joining first (30 day free trial membership, $35/year to join).
Can't join with a free e-mail account (no Yahoo, Hotmail, Netscape, etc.).

Test Drive the Lincoln LS Owners Club for 30 day for FREE!

We are the only car club confident enough in our benefits to offer unrestricted 30 day FREE access to our web site."

And to top it off, the arrogant misguided souls claim to be the "only" club to offer free unlimited access to their website.

If the LS owners as a group all have this kind of attitude, it's no wonder we've had zero participation in the LS section of our board.

I guess I should look at a Town Car instead - whaddya think, Sandy?:)

I'm looking for one for a friend of mine, and wondering what $15K will get you of an LS.

RE: Lincoln LS owners club - These guys are tighta$$ed

I absolutely love my new Town Car!!!! MUCH more than I ever loved my Mark VIII ! But, the problem is that the 2003 was an all new car, with all new geometry, all new suspension, all new transmission, and all new steering geometry and and a vastly upgraded braking system. I hear-tell that the 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 & 1998 are all the same car under the skin, and that the '03 is vastly different & improved. I do not know you finances, but you can get $5,000 rebate plus $3,600 off of MSRLP for a combined total discount of $8,600.00 "off" ~ if you are over 52 years of age, JOIN AARP. AARP members get an add'l. $500.00 off. Membership is $25.00 - so you win $475.00 ! There is also $1,200 faftory-to-dealer incentive monies. You can wrangle 1/2 from them, or $600.00. So.....as in MY case, it's possible to get as much as $10,100 OFF WINDOW! Mine windowed for $47,645 and I paid $ 37,500.00. If you have a trade, you can put that toward it too.
Whatever, I'd go for the '03. I'd even take a used '03 over a brand new '02.
To drive one is to fall in love with it! I could not be happier. Drive it & then an "LS" and the "LS" will feel like a Taurus to you.

That has to be the gayest car club website I've ever seen. You can't do ANYTHING without joining.

RE: Lincoln LS owners club - These guys are tighta$$ed

Well, I signed up for a trial membership, just to see what they've got.

Over 300 paid members. A glossy, full colour newsletter (full of LS ads). Club participation by Lincoln engineers. A project car. 2 complete engines donated to the club by Lincoln for performance testing.

Looks like Lincoln is very interested in the performance image, but only with current models.

Some disappointing info:- no successful aftermarket "chip", no successful supercharger kits, even McLaren has abandoned their supercharged LS project. The engineers claim that there's not much room for improvement on the stock package.

Sure looks like our Marks have way more potential! (and are much better looking by far!)

Sandy, Town Cars in the Midwest are now $ 12,800 off sticker. What a buy!

That club is rather silly.

Alot of the Guys in it are LMS customers, MOST of them are way cool.

But Brian Gowan the owner/moderator leaves ALOT to be disired, arrogant is an understatement.

Should hand out some LOD cards with every purchase and invite some of them over to a happier more open and friendly Lincoln club, cheaper dues too so they have more money left over for mods

You get a year free membership if you can provide them with a LS vin number, and if you get to know anyone that's been on their board a while they will extend your membership for another year.

The LS has a sealed computer that's why the only mods you can do them is replace the air box. If you don't buy the premium LS you get stuck with one that has a limitor on the engine that will cut out the engine at 117mph. My 92 SHO is faster than the non-preminm LSs.::nono::
