I HONESTLY don´t like the way the MKS looks. Don´t get me wrong, there is not a thing Lincoln can do wrong, but it´s opening shots of the MKS were NOT that impressive compared to the Town Car. The Town Car´s aged Prestige, even the 2008 model, are next to flawless. I suppose people associated the name Town Car with Gas Guzzler and Lincoln wants to start anew.

RIP Town Car, 1981-2009

Lincoln let the TC die... It has undergone almost no powertrain changes since the early 90s.

Still has the same 4.6 SOHC and 4 speed auto.

LEAPS behind the competition.

The Town Car is a car of age and distinction. If you want CLASS you get a Town Car. Unlike the Hummer, the BMW, the Chrysler that have all turned into the pathetic image of upper middle class suburban families, Town Car was still a very distinguished car. Town Cars were driven by go-getters. Saying you drove a town car was different then saying ¨I drive a BMW.¨ Or ¨I drive a H2¨.

I was flipping through old ads for the TC and saw that always in the background there was some preppy-distinct couple in the back, madly in love, on some upper-class street with the world at their feet. It retained that image, and in my opinion keeping the same general design and just shining it off through the generations was a wise marketing idea. If they popped out a Town Car one day that looked like a Zephyr, people would give them the eye as if they were losing faith in their product.

Town Car was a ageless luxury vehicle for the ages. With the interest resurfacing in classic cars, I would say the TC had a chance to be restored to it´s image.

It´s unfortunate, however. I am getting a memorial tattoo on Thursday.

They did add that part where it drops to 4 on the freeway to save gas ? Seemse like more room for problems hehe.

It says the mks is a 17 ft long car??? The TC isnt even that long ! no car is that long !! i think they meant 7 ft long car LOL

Knowing the Town Car would soon be gone was one of my reasons for obtaining this beauty. :)

Looks like the MKS is 17 ft long, the Town Car about 18 ft long. Personally, I can't see the MKS as a Limo though.
