Hi,

I just install new 3.73 rear end before winter that I bought from Max at 5 star. I’ll getting the car out of storage to drive again, looking to buying a chip what would you guys recommend? I been thinking about what Geno sells at LMS at http://www.lincolnmotorsport.com but its not a SCT, I been favoring Dennis at http://reinhartautomotive.com

let me ask this if I had SCT chip, and brought my car to be dyno tuned ? can they change the settings? And genos chip all ready programmed I’m tried to understand this stuff little more....

RE: LMS or Dennis?

I'd go with SCT, definitely.

Your best bet is to find someone local who can burn a chip for you. They should be able to sell you a chip that's better than a mail order even if you don't get a dyno tune.

It's a real pain in the rear having to mail your chip back for changes. Been there, done that, sent it in for a refund and paid to have it tuned locally.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

Both say they have reputation and good customer service, i know this to be untrue at least in my dealings. Bill evanoff however runs a great operation. I've bought a few things from him and every time was good. He's been around the t-bird and SC community for a long time and has a loyal customer base there too, only in the last few years has he been expanding to mkviii stuff but don't hesitate to buy from him.

i thought both, have good reputation, and good customer service

I've also had no problems with either of the above mentioned shops. Also delt with Bill, no problems there either.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

You want a real chip and best customer service ?
Call Lidio at www.alternativeauto.com , tell him either Jeremi or Dave sent you.

Bill is good people, but I don't think he burns the chips himself, so in case of a reburn, or changes, you're gonna have to deal with the middle man, although his prices are very good.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

You should be able to find what you need in the Chicago area. There are a lot of LOD members there. Good luck!

Yeah, he posted that garbage as his rebuttal of my submitted complaint at ripoffreport.com.

What I would like to know is how he got what appears to be 50 more HP out of the mods described in the article. The only power adding item I see is the SCT chip.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

Just one of many good reports: http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/0311mm_mach/

At least Reinhart chips are what they are billed as, unlike the time LMS got caught resselling preprogramed off the shelf chips as his own and charging $100 more. If you want a chip I'd recommend Reinhart or BlueOval, both will detect and tune for a bigger MAF, others may not rendering the new MAF useless after a few days of use.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

I know Dennis uses SCT, which is a good thing. But i've heard from some people that he's not the greatest at the actual tuning. Just hearsay, like most stuff on the internet.

I'd check out www.superchipscustom.com, find a local SCT dealer, talk to them and see what they can do. Chances are, you're not going to be 100% happy first time around, and if you have a local guy doing it it's a lot easier to have them adjust a few things for you.

I've gone through Modular Depot, and i had one done locally. Modular Depot had good service and seemed fairly knowledgable, but i still ended up sending it back for a refund and having a local shop (Alternative Auto in Mt. Clemens) do my tuning. I'm much more satisfied now, and i know that if i have a problem Lidio will fix it himself for the cost of dyno time. The last time i had some changes made he did it free, because the car didn't need to be dyno'd again.

RE: LMS or Dennis?

[/div]I looked at that site and I can't find out who runs it. That makes me suspect. Could be a competitor or someone with an ulterior motive for all I know.http://members.tccoa.com/lastmrk/Images/lastmark.jpg
[/div]

It very well could be. But a lot of the information seems to come from disgruntled customers, not the site operator.

Whoever runs the site has also elected to hide his identity from whois searches. This may just be in order to avoid being attacked by Dennis' lawyers though, as others who have spoken ill about Dennis have been sent nasty legal-type letters. Most elect to shut up rather than fight with him, including a couple of other well known Ford message board operators.
