I have a Black 96 LSC that I parked in my brothers house when I inherited a 2000 LS. The Mark as been sitting for 12 months, I've loss my keys and the battery is dead so I can't use the keypad. Is there a way to pop the hood so I can charge it to get inside, I think I may have another set in the glovebox. Also I didn't use any gas preservatives and I know the gas should be bad by now, I plan to siphon as much as I can out then putting new gas in. But if I don not have a set of keys in the car, do I call the dealership with the VIN number? and any recommendations I should do with a car that has been sitting like this for over a year in regards to bad gas or what I should keep an eye on or replace right off would be very helpful.

If you have AAA call them and by me the police help with car lock-outs if they are not busy. I think they should be able to use a slim-jim to pop the door lock. Or a lock smith may be able to help you get in as well.
If you can't find any keays I think the 96 has the PATS key like my 97, if so you need a coded key to be able to start the car and will have to go to the dealer to have it programmed

I had hoped there was some spring loaded mechanism to pop the hood with out having to get inside. I could then charge the battery and use the keypad. I may not have a set inside of it, so I don't want to spend cash on opening if Im going to have to spend money to get a new set of keys. My biggest help right now would be finding a way to charge the battery so I can get inside.

It's been 12 months...what's the rush?

A locksmith or police can be there in less than an hour.

these is no rush, A locksmith will cost me$50 even if he can't get it(I think), I was hoping that there was a mechanical spring I could get to from under the car to pop the hood so I could charge the battery , I guess theres not one is what your saying, I'm also doing brakes and rotors on my LS and my caliper spreading tool is in the trunk.

If you want to open the door, carefully apply +12 volts (jumper cable or other big wire) to the starter 12 volt terminal, and put the negative supply wire on a good ground.

The keypad should work.

Maybe your keys are in the car?:)
