Loud tapping coming from engine after synthetic oil change

I change my oil religiously, and since I had the car it had a slight tapping noise coming from the engine area, iv'e pinned it down to the front of the motor. Sounds like a timing chain tensioner. It quiets as you rev the engine anywhere over about 2k rpms and sounds normal. After browsing through some of the topics last weekend I've noticed some posts about using synthetic and the motorcraft oil filter. I typically used penzoil 10-30 with a fram. Then changed to full synthetic with motorcraft filter. At first, it did seem to be a bit more quite. However, after a few days of running her I noticed it got LOUD ! I mean its really noticeable at the drive through - or parked next to a wall or box truck at the stop light.

So I drained all the synthetic and put some thicker conventional oil to see if that will make it a little more quiet. It did, but not by a whole lot, its still noticeable. Its coming from the very front, sounds like passenger side towards the fixed pulley. Is there an easy way to change this part? Should I add some lucas to the oil? I'll start her up later and post a video, thanks in advance.
