Lower Control Arms

I need to replace the lower ball joints on my Mark VIII. Am I better off buying the complete lower control arm which comes with the ball joint installed or just purchasing the ball joint and having it pressed in? Are the bushings in the middle and end of the control arm replaceable also?

www.rockauto.com has the lower control arm, complete with ALL bushings installed, for about $110.

It's a deal that is tough to beat, especially if your Mark has some miles on it.

FWIW, the local Meineke replaced the upper control arms and both lower ball joints on my '93. Apparently the LCA bushings were OK and I had the strut bushings replaced a couple years ago.

if your bushings are in good shape, the ball joint can be replaced. You just need to get an installation press. You can get them for free at Autozone to use.
