If that's the case then that body shop has no clue as to how to paint chrome then. I have ALL my chrome painted for 3 years now with no ill effects at all.

My suggestion, go to another body shop because they don't know what they are doing.

I don't know squat about performance, but I do know that if I had it to do all over again, I'd forgo black paint. What an incredible pain in the ass it is! Not only is it a bitch to keep clean, but even when it IS clean, every one of the millions of microscopic scratches shows up like a bad rash. I never thought I'd WISH for cloudy days. I hate even looking at it on sunny days.

Bear in mind I live in an apartment, with no garage and no place (besides Trixie's house) to comfortably do the kind of work needed to keep it looking pristine. Nor do I have the patience to give it a full-out Zaino job every couple of weeks.

I love my black 1st gen base model. Check out my website - black is awesome. (it is a cloud day too - lol!) Chrome is nice! (even though I am trying it blacked out with electric tape)
