Mach 1 converter

Would a Machs torque converter be a upgrade for us? Or do they share the same converter?

RE: Mach 1 converter

Well, it's an 11.25 inch convertor. It's got some heavier duty internals with a slightly higher stall. I would NOT consider it a wise upgrade. The Mustang is way lighter than our cars, which makes a difference in the performance of the convertor. The convertor would probably run a tad hotter in our cars because of the added weight. I'm not as educated on these cars as most of the others members of this site, so this is just my thought on it. I will probably go with a 10" and roughly 3K RPM stall when I do mine. You won't believe how mach faster an engine will rev with a smaller convertor! A good convertor can make anywhere between .3 and .8 difference in the 1/4 mile, from my experience anyway. For the price you would pay Ford for a Mach 1 convertor, you could probably have one made for YOUR car.
