Mark VIII Mystery Wheels

So, I saw a picture today of some wheels on a Mark that looked like they could have been factory, but I've never seen them before. They were very similar to the chrome wheels (I dont know what the proper name for then is, they're like fan blades and directional) that are on my 98' LSC. However, these wheels seemed to be directional also but seemed to have two spokes of the wheel closer together or something. They had the same kind of "spinning" kind of look to them but the spokes were closer, but not all of them, just some of them. I don't even know if I understand what I'm saying!:fartAm I crazy? Do these things exist? If so what Marks had them?

I think I've seen the same kind of wheels, they are chrome of course. all in all a very close copy of our 10 spoke wheels. And very slick looking if I may add. Will try to find pics

I remember a thread years ago of what stock wheels were available from Lincoln.

The "20-spoke" directional was available in plain and chrome

Still not sure...

Still not sure...

Wow, everyone here really has their act together! I wouldn't know how to begin to find pic's of all the wheels available over the years. I can't be sure which ones I saw, but I sure like the 20 spoke directionals in chrome and the octastars. Know which years / models they came on? I only ask cuz my chrome 10 spokes are starting to corrode and I need to replace them. I'm reluctant to use aftermarket rims (although some black 18's would be nice) and I priced replacements for mine and they wany like $350.00 a peice! I need options and used chrome 10 spokes just don't seem to be out there.

You forgot the chrome snow flake!

Were they stock?

I had the 20 spoke plain on the '93 when I bought it and later bought my chrome 10 spokes. I bought a set of plain 10 spokes for race wheels before I discovered the snowflakes were lighter, so I bought a pair of plain snowflakes. The only ones I never had have were the OctaStars.

Only gen 2s... my 98 had them, they are quite pricy... you can a nice set of aftermarket wheels for the same price.

I remember Jamie saying that the chrome snowflakes were factory, but rare as hell.

I like the OCTI's and Chrome ten spokes on second gens and the Chrome 20 spokes on first gens....

I really can't believe the cost of factory replacement wheels?!?!?!?! It's absolutely ridiculous. Like I said, my chrome 10 spokes are starting to corrode and although I have no problem altering my car in the neverending quest for speed, I like to leave a stock appearance. Naturally, I wanted to buy stock replacements for my wheels, until i saw the prices, that is! The one site I looked at called themselves a "discounter" and was asking $289 a PIECE. That is crazy. I can get black chrome 18's with tires (Goodyears at that) for $1300 out the door. I dont want to buy not LSC wheels, but at these prices, I may have to. I heard that they offer some of the Mustang wheels in Mark bolt patterns, but i have yet to find any for sale. Ar least that would be wheels from another Ford product.
