my moms 98lincoln mark viii is still overheating after t/s replacement i replaced the stat and it ran just fine and did not overheat for 30 minutes so i left and the next day it overheated again what do i check next ? it seems like the fan is working fine ? do i have air in the line ? i cannot get the fill cap off on the pipe fitting on top !is this the reason air may be trapped?

Yes. You MUST add the coolent from that filer neck, NOT into the coolant bottle.

I had trouble with mine also...busted a rachet extension doing it. I ended up having to use a monkey wrench. Apparently the cap was never opened until I bought the car at 75K miles. ::uh::
